Beauty Queen

January 3, 2013

2013.

by Christina Marrale in Fitness, Beauty, Health

It's that time of year again....a new beginning and a fresh new opportunity to set some new expectations for ourselves! I tend to break down my resolutions into categories of personal and professional, with some beauty mixed in along the way, of course! Here's a few:

Less chemicals: I eat clean and avoid putting a lot of processed junk into my body most of the time (this gal can't say no to pizza) but am looking to step it up more in the beauty department. Less parabens, chemicals and other harmful ingredients that do us no good on the daily.

More water: This is one of those resolutions that always makes the list every year. I've always made it a point to drink quite a bit through the day, but there's always room for improvement! If you've every wondered how much water should we be taking in, half of your body weight in ounces is always a safe measurement.

Better nails: I so need to step it up in the nail department, as these cuticles are crying out for help! In my everyday life, I am constantly on the go and it seems my nails have fallen victim to my hectic schedule. Going to start by taking my favorite nail strengthening supplement MSM more frequently and make it a priority to give my nails a little extra TLC every week.

Back to Pilates: In 2012, I discovered a favorite new workout that left my body looking the best it's ever been, Pilates Plus. If you haven't yet experienced the pure amazement that is this workout, I highly encourage you to! After all the holiday indulgences, it's time to get back to this kick ass routine!

Get creative: Ever feel as though your just stuck in your beauty regimen? I've nailed down a solid skincare and everyday beauty routine that i'm finally pleased with, but wouldn't mind stepping it up a bit more with color variety, and bolder choices. When I worked at MAC years ago, I stepped out with a new look daily, it's time to get back to being a bit more outgoing!

Clean eats: At first glance, "healthy" cooking can seem a bit boring, which can leave me feeling a bit uninspired in the kitchen. It's time to ramp up the recipe selection and begin getting more crafty in my cooking. My first order of business? Re-engineering my family's delicious (but unhealthy) Italian meals.
