After a busy couple of weeks, my hectic schedule finally caught up with me in the worst of ways...sick with the flu. 5 days of fever, congestion, aches and lots of tissues left me feeling not so hot, both inside and out. Being that sick can take a toll on a gal, which left me conjuring up a few new ways to make myself look and feel a little better while bedridden...
Give yourself a mani/pedi: Nothing like perfectly manicured nails to bring out a better mood, go bold with a vivid color or if you've got the patience, try creating your own nail art!
In-Home Facials & Hair Masks: Take advantage of the time and mix up a quick mask to use on your hair or skin. Opt for one with simple household ingredients and won't take a lot of energy to make. My fave? Adding a few scoops of pure, organic coconut oil to hair overnight, or a mixture of 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 a mashed banana and a few tsp's of honey for the face to sooth and hydrate.
Teach yourself a new technique: If your anything like me, there's only so much bad TV one can watch (one more episode of MTV's Catfish and I may have lost it). Use your time wisely by learning a new makeup trick or technique online instead! YouTube is a great place to tune in, or check out my show, Beauty Bites to brush up on all things beauty (shameless plug...I know).
Full steam ahead: Let the steam from a boiling pot of water not only clear your sinuses but get the skin to look glowing as well. Stand over a steaming pot for 1-5 minutes, with a towel covering your head to truly get all the good effects from this simple trick. For an extra feel good boost, add in a few aromatherapy drops as well!
