The BB Cream (Also known as "Blemish Balm") craze has officially hit the US!! Created by Dr. Christine Schrammek, it was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes. The product first gained popularity in Korea, quickly spread throughout South East Asia and has recently hit the mainstream beauty market here in the US.
Though the name states "Blemish Balm" it is not just for correcting acne issues. In Asia, any type of skin issue is considered a blemish. This wonder product boasts a list of incredible benefits including: hiding skin imperfections, reducing acne and scarring, shrinking the appearance of pores and wrinkles, all while brightening your skin.
BB creams eliminate the need for many of the products from your daily routine (including your moisturizer, SPF, foundation and concealer!) all while adding power house ingredients and protection to our skin. Though they are best suited for those with a dryer skin type, formulations are just starting to pop up in the market that cater to a more oily skin type as well.
So where can you get it? During my search, I kept coming across recommendations for The Face Shop A website that hosts a large variety of BB creams and other popular products. Sephora and Ulta stores are also starting to carry the cream in addition to many popular cosmetic brands formulating their own (Clinique, MAC, Boscia to name a few) Listed in the image above are a few of my current favorite BB creams to try. Check them out and let me know how you like! Recommend any other brands? Be sure to share in the comments below.
