This weekend, I dropped by the John Frieda Style Salon Tour at Hollywood and Highland for some pampering and to speak with one of the brilliant minds behind the brand, International Creative Consultant Harry Josh.

After a brief tour of the gorgeous salon space, We dove right into my hair consultation and styling. Harry suggested face framing layers to freshen up my style and the new "Full Repair" line which targets over worked hair (guilty as charged). I had arrived with my hair in it's most unmanageable state...freshly blow dried and frizzy. Twenty minutes later, my transformation was complete...I had a totally new head of hair!

The before

The final product: True California girl waves that I didn't need to spend the day at the beach for.

Harry described the brand, John Frieda as the "Gucci and Prada of drugstore brands" and I could not agree more. Best known for it's award winning, lines such as "Frizz Ease" and color care lines "Brilliant Brunette, Sheer Blonde and Radiant Red" products are continually evolving, meeting each and every customer's need. When walking through the drugstore beauty aisle, it's natural to gravitate towards the unique, high end packing and innovative line.

A busy day at the Salon Tour

What's the next big product in John Frieda's line up? Precision Foam Colour, The first ever premium permanent home hair color that uses foam technology. The product offers over 20 different hair colors to choose from, with salon quality results.

Fabulous Precision Foam Colour

While on the topic of hair color, Harry actually shared some wonderful "At home" tips:

-If you have any gold or red tones in your hair, avoid anything on the box with the description "Golden or Warm" as warm tones tend to bring out more red in the hair. Stick to a cooler shade with the descriptive words such as "Ash or Cool" to balance the color out. If you have more of an ashy shade, do the opposite and purchase a more golden color.

-With at home hair color, it will not get your color more than 2 shades lighter or darker than your original. If your looking for a more drastic change in your color, head to the salon.

Your transformation starts here....

Thank you to Harry Josh, and the wonderful team at John Frieda for a great day and a fabulous hair do! Stay tuned for tomorrow's post, as I will cover Harry's top 3 style picks for summer!
