When it comes to hair in the summer months, I live by this manifesto: Keep it easy, keep it simple — with soft beach waves, loose braids, and low-maintenance color all on the menu.
Don't get me wrong, this glamour gal loves playing around with color, styles and product, but the last thing I need to be worrying about is a root touch-up when I could be heading to the beach or being served an ice-cold margarita. Which is why I am greatly excited about the latest color trend at the moment: the Sombre.
Sombre (also known as "subtle ombre") is similar to an ombre style, which is a graduated color focusing on the ends of hair rather than the roots. Yet, instead of keeping it strictly to the bottom, the sombre brings the color up around the face — framing your features and brightening the look overall. I like to think of it as a balayage/ombre hybrid.
What's your take on the budding trend? I'm planning to pay a visit to my colorist soon to give it a try. In the meantime, I've been pulling a few inspiration images on my Pinterest. Check it out!
