Ever wake up one morning to realize you've let your roots get way out of control? This was totally me last week, as I had woken up noticing my beautiful lighter red locks were becoming an unsightly matter.
In need of a quick color change with very little time to spare and no appointments open at my salon of choice, it was time to get creative. I hadn't dyed my own hair in ages...not because I wasn't capable, more because I was unsure of how the outcome would be.
Then I remembered my conversation with the lovely Harry Josh a few years ago at John Frieda's event in Hollywood I had covered. He raved about John Frieda's Precision Foam Hair Color, boasting it's beautiful color selection and high drugstore quality. I decided to pull the trigger, headed to my local CVS and picked up 4N a "Dark Natural Brown" all for $12 (a steal from what I usually drop in the salon! Score!).
Overall the process was fairly easy and the best part? It's foam! Which certainly helped with getting the correct amount of coverage, in addition to making the overall application clean and not messy. After a quick blow dry, I investigated the results. The color covered my roots well, hid the rest of my blonde highlights from the Summer months and even had some dimension running through it which I was pleased about, i'm not one for just one flat color. Not to mention, the conditioning treatment you receive is heavenly....1 week later and I still can't stop petting my hydrated feeling head :)
Though I still recommend visiting a professional stylist for any major changes you would like to take with your color (remember, drugstore products can only take your color up or down 2 shades) John Frieda's product works great for those gals in a pinch or are in need of a root touch up, in between visits!
