Top products, $11 or less review's!

While on Vacation this week in Vegas, I decided to stop by the gift shop and get some good reads for the pool (aka, gossip and beauty mag's!) I was thrilled to find InStyle's latest "150 best beauty buys" issue on stands! As I scanned through....I made a list of all the things I have not tried or reviewed yet and upon returning to LA headed out to the stores immediately. I decided to break it up my reviews into 2 catergories: some very affordable drug store buys, and the higher price point products. Here's some of my purchases and reviews for the drugstore category:

TRESemme 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray (aka, awesomeness in a can!) $5

This formula is made up of a special Volume Control Complex. I applied to damp hair, and turned on the blow dryer.....10 minutes later, instant volume and body! And it truly lasted all day. The best part: It doesn't feel heavy, weigh the hair down, or feel like there's too much product (hate that feeling) in the hair. Oddly enough, it seemed to also delay the grease factor to my hair....usually having to wash it every other day, I went 4 days with my hair looking grease free and fresh!

Breath RX Anti Bacterial mouth wash, $10

No, I am not a dental hygienist....but I do care an awful lot about the appearance of my teeth and smile. And when it comes to mouthwash, I have always loved my Listerine Whitening MouthWash, Pre Brush Rinse and still do. But after reading the wonderful review InStyle had given on this product, I had to try it out. What I love is that it's Alcohol free (alcohol in mouthwash can stimulate the growth of bacteria by drying out the mouth, yuck) and contains both Zytex and Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC)which are 2 very major ingredients in fighting bad breath and bacteria. Overall, I really liked it....my breath was fresh and my teeth were looking fantastic. Not a bad buy!

Rembrandt Whitening Intense Stain Toothpaste, $8

Although I had my teeth professionally whitened 8 months ago, I still have issues with staining on my teeth. Like most people, I drink tea, red wine...and even though im meticulous about maintaining a great smile, sometimes those stains are inevitable (im Italian...I wont be giving up my red wine anytime soon!)  The review for this was positive, naming it the perfect toothpaste for removing tough stains. After a few uses, My teeth are looking pretty great. My only gripe with this is, the texture of the toothpaste is a little grainy for me. I'll use it till it's finished, and get back to you on whether it removed any stains or not, After only a few uses....I dont expect it to work miracles.

Seche Vite Dry Fast, Top Coat $10

There's a reason why this is one of the top selling "Top Coat's" in the world....the promises are pretty big, guaranteeing a chip free, flawless and super glossy manicure lasting up to 6 full days. i was skeptical, but after 4 days of it over my OPI polish, I was stunned. I work with my hands A LOT, between doing makeup for clients, facials, cleaning the house etc and my manicure looked AMAZING. It's day 5 now, and still no sign of chipping. Im a true believer, are you?

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Compact, $11

By far one of my favorite products to use when im working on bridal parties. I love this product for a few reasons....Great color selection, The gloss like applicator, and the Marine Collagen and Vitamin E moisturizing complex that layers on top of the color. The sleek little compact is fabulous too (fits right in your clutch!) It lasts long enough where your not continually touching it up, but it's light enough to remove at the end of the evening (sometimes those long last formulas leave you scrubbing your lips like crazy to get it off!)

 Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer, $8

This product is like a dream to blend. The texture is very distinct....light, airy and creamy (more creamy than mousse-like to me). It warms to the touch as soon as you apply it to skin, and with just a few strokes of your concealer brush (or hand) it melts into the skin perfectly. It has staying power...and avoided getting into my fine lines around the eyes (Although mind you, i do wear it with my Smashbox primer all over the face) Not bad for an $8 concealer!!

That's all for now, check out the issue on stands now for some fantastic beauty buy's! I'll be doing my review on some higher price point products soon so stay tuned! Have a lovely week everyone!!
