Hair TLC

by Christina

The spring season to me is always about one thing: Renovation! Renewing everything in my beauty routine, fabulous skincare to give me a warm glow, beautiful spring colors to make the features on my face pop and fresh, healthy hair! I have been caught up doing so much new research of Makeup and Skincare, it seems my hair has taken a back seat for now.

This week I was finally able to get over to my favorite salon in Los Angeles The Parlour on 3rd for a much needed and very overdue chop of the mop! After 6 inches cut and a long discussion with my wonderful stylist, Leya.....I realized how much my hair needed some major TLC!!!

I immediately went out in search of some new products to begin my hair renovation! I already got the cut (which I recommend everyone to get! A fresh trim is the perfect start to getting your hair spring-ready!) Here is what I came across:

Loreal Everstrong Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner

I fluctuate between several shampoo's all ranging in price, I have my favorites but was very focused to find a new Sulfate-Free shampoo! Living out in Southern California, both my skin and hair have taken a toll against the dry climate so I wanted something hydrating and results driven. I also wanted something cost effective as well....and these products have truly met all of my needs!

I picked this up at Target for a mere $5.99 each for shampoo and conditioner. For a Sulfate-Free shampoo, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it lathered! The smell is wonderful as well, with a soft rosemary juniper scent. This product is made up of a patented Bio-Ceramide complex, which strengthens hair after just one wash. I certainly felt a difference in hydration after using this product, which I loved. BUT I did still notice a bit of grease deep in the roots of my hair that was not very clean. I worked the product through every inch of my scalp, so I was a bit disappointed to see that...but with a second wash, it cleansed the scalp properly. After a week's use....I am still very happy with it, I am going to experiment with different formula's as well so I'll get back to you with my findings :) Anyone tried this brand? Love it/Hate it? Fill me in!!

Josie Maran, Argan Oil Hair Serum

I have fallen in LOVE with this product!! If your familiar with the product Moroccan oil...this is a very similar product. Only difference is, this is free of Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic fragrance & dye, Petro-Chemicals and phtalates. Formulated with Argan Oil....that is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, this product is made to hydrate, protect and nourish the hair! It is a wonderful frizz fighter for those with curly to wavy hair types, and helps to seal those precious ends (so we are not fussing over split ends a month after our hair cut)  :) I put this product on a few different ways: A few drops of it into my conditioner for a boost, Apply to my ends before blowdry, or apply after my hair is dried (never on the root or scalp.) It has truly boosted the shine and health of my hair, not to mention it smells DIVINE! I picked this up for $30 at Sephora.

So far, my hair is looking fresh, healthy and has a wonderful shine! I could not be happier about my latest hair renovation! Looking for a change? Try the products and let me know your results! :)

Until next time,
